Philosophy

Cullen Wines was founded in 1971 by Dr. Kevin Cullen AM and Diana Cullen AM and has been family-owned for over 50 years, now entering into the third generation.

Located in the Wilyabrup subregion of the globally recognised Margaret River wine region, our special site was selected for producing exceptional quality wines, particually Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

Today, under the guidance of second-generation & Managing Director Vanya Cullen, winegrowing at Cullen is centered around capturing the purity of nature in every glass of biodynamic wine.

At Cullen, caring for the land to nurture healthy vines and craft natural wines is the pinnacle of our mission as we embrace a third generation of family owned, sustainable winegrowing.

Biodynamic Wine Room

We welcome you to taste our wines at our Biodynamic Wine Room. Here we offer a range of experiences for you to enjoy, including seated tasting experiences, dining and a self-guided biodynamic garden tour.

Our Biodynamic Wine Room team, love to engage and share our wines, our wine making processes and biodynamic practices. When dining in the Wine Room you will enjoy the delights our garden has to offer, with over 90% of the menu being grown right here at Cullen Wines.

Dining

We strive for the purest and most transparent expression of place in our wine and food. Dine at Cullen and enjoy a four course set menu paired with biodynamic wines to compliment your dining experience.

Cullen Wines was the first winery in Wilyabrup, Margaret River, to pair its wines with local fare for visitors. As early as 1976, Shel Cullen prepared simple cheese platters, pastries, and soups to warmly welcome guests.

Cullen Wines sits upon the ancient soils of Wilyabrup, the place of red ochre, the “sweet spot” of the Margaret River wine growing region.

We respectfully acknowledges the Wadandi people, past and present, traditional custodians of the land on which our wines are grown.

Storytelling Table

We invite you, fellow tree lovers, to sit at our Wannang – peppermint tree table which was crafted from 400-year-old redgum atop the Wannang – peppermint. Taste our biodynamic wines around the table, relax within nature and honour this magical sentient being – connect to country through wine tasting.
