Autumn garden update
Autumn in the garden begins during the local Wadandi season of Bunuru (second summer), when the earth is still dry and the days still warm. It then transitions into the season of Djeran, as the nights become shorter and cooler, with morning dews and the arrival of the first earth quenching rains. As the days become shorter and cooler, the garden transitions from the last of the summer fruiting vegetables of tomatoes, zucchinis, cucumbers, eggplants, paprika and sweet corn, into the production of the green vegetables, kale, broccolis, peas, leeks, kohl rabi, fennel, soft herbs and root vegetables of beetroot, carrots, turnips and radishes.
